Honorable judges 左手, teachers 右手 and all my dear friends 双手.

My
name is Chan Zi Rou.
I will be sharing with you, a motivational story “Nails in the
Fence”. I hope the story would spark you up.

There was once a little boy 一人 who had a very bad temper 凶,
烦躁, and he always deny it 交叉手. The father told his son, I give you
this bag of nails, and every time you lose your temper 顿脚, you have to
hammer one nail 锤钉 into a fence. The first day the boy had to drive all
the way 15 抓头? Lost count 算手? 15 nails into the fence.

Over the next few weeks, “I have to take a deep breath 闭眼睛深
呼 吸 , I don’t want to be angry, I want to take it easy 弹 手 ” as he
learned to control his anger 收敛脾气 the number of nails hammered
daily gradually dwindled down 语气开心. He discovered it was easier to
hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally, the day came, when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all.
He told his father: “Dad you see, I overcame it, when I take a deep
breath, I can control my temper so well 自信!” The father suggested that
the boy: “Come son, now you pull out 拔出 one nail for each day.” The
boy did it 兴奋 and he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and
the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were
gone 兴奋.

The day came again, the father took his son by the hand 双手握
and led him to the fence. He said, “Good job 赞 son, you have done well.
But, look at the ugly holes in the fence, the fence will never be the same
摇 头 . When we say things in anger, they leave a scar just like all this
holes. You can put a knife 捅一刀 in a man and draw it out 拔. It won’t
matter how many times you say I’m sorry 惭 愧 I should not have said
that I’m sorry please forgive me 求饶, the wound is still there.”
The young boy then understood how powerful his words were. He
looked up at his father and said "I hope you can forgive me father for the
holes I put in you."
My dear friends,

A verbal wound 嘴巴 is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very

rare jewels. They make you smile 笑 and encourage you to succeed.
When you are in trouble, they lend an ear, they share words of praise
and they always want to open their hearts to us.
Thank you.
