RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE VAW DESK IN BARANGAY GUERRERO, BAUANG, LA CHRI

UNION AND THE DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE BARANGAY OFFICIALS IN
RELATION IO-REPUBLIC ACF 9262 ON THE ANTI- VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND
THEIR CHILDREN LAW.
WHEREAS, the MANUEL B. LLARENAS
Sangguniang Barangay recognizes the state policy that values the dignity of
woman and children and guarantees full respect for human rights, including the
recognition of the need for the state, through its barangay, to protect the family and its
members, particularly women, and children, from violence and threats to their personal
safety and security;
WHEREAS, to this end and in accordance with RA 9262 on the Anti-Violence Against
Women and Their Children Law of 2004 and other applicable laws, the State, through its
barangays, shall exert efforts to address violence committed against women and their MA
children in keeping withF.the

other human rights instruments.
WHEREAS, there shall be a VAW Desk established in this barangay which shall be
responsible for accommodating and addressing any and cases relating to RA 9262
involving the violence against women and their children of the residents with the
jurisdiction of this barangay.
WHEREAS, Barangay Officials in VAWC Cases shall undertake an education program on RA
9262 and why it exist, the rights and remedies of victim- survivors, have a family violence
prevention program, including peer counseling for men, support organizing efforts and
development programs for women in the community, prioritize livelihood projects for
victims-survivors, involve women in planning and implementation of all programs and
projects in the barangay, the Anti-VAW Desk officer in the barangay who will shall

coordinate a one stop help desk and as much possible this help desk shall be open for 24
hours, develop a system to document and report cases of VAWC and assistance program to
victims and if applicable/ necessary, prescribe additional guidelines and standards
provided that these are consistent with the act.
NOW THEREFORE: on motion of Kagawad LINDA F. CALUZA Committee on Women and
Family, duly seconded by the rest of the body, the VAW Desk in Barangay Guerrero,
Bauang, La Union and the duties and functions of the Barangay Officials in relation to RA
9262 on the anti- violence against women and their children law has been established and
approved by the body, BE IT.
RESOLVED FURTHER, the copies of this resolution shall be furnished to the other
concerned for their information appropriate action
