It is a fact that most of the students nowadays are not
booklovers. They tend to have their attention on what is the trend.
They usually preferred to read eBooks which are not associated in school. Undeniably, it is a hard part of a teacher to have topics like short stories or even a poem. Only few students will read and it also depends if they can relate to what they are about to read. So, it is a challenge for a teacher to device some activity that can arouse students’ interest and will inspire them to love reading. Precisely, teaching grammar is both difficult and challenging, difficult to the students to use the correct grammar and in times of writing, they are curious of how they are going to construct their overflowing ideas. On the other hand, it is very challenging in the part of a teacher because she needs to be more knowledgeable so that she could teach well and could answer students’ queries during the discussion. The catch-up Friday activities were really fun. Eagerness to win was evident in every faces. Having activities promotes competitiveness, leadership and cooperation. Indeed, this whole week experience give me valuable ideas that will help me to become a better teacher. It also inspires me to read more so that I could give them more.
Accepting criticism and suggestions makes a person grow.
Since educators are reflective practitioners, there is always room for improvement in both lessons and instructional strategies. I was able to think about how I could do better by reflecting on myself and having discussions with my cooperating teacher. Shelamae R. Tupag BSED 4-B
