Ample greenery offsets the concrete and stone architecture
of this prestigious business school. Doshi elevated the
corridors into living, breathing ‘streets’, all treated differently
—some open, some partially covered with skylights, and
others only with pergolas
The Indian Institute of ManagementInspired by
traditional maze-like Indian cities and temples, IIM
Bangalore is organized as interlocking buildings, courts
and galleries. It also provides a variety of spaces
protected from the hot climate, and infuses greenery
through semi-open corridors and gardens.

Inspired by the architecture at Fatehpur Sikri near Agra

and Madurai Meenakshi Temple in Tamil Nadu,

The integration of functions,

movements, nature and the choices to
accommodate diverse activities
simultaneously are the distinguishing
features of the campus at Bangalore

Materials used :
SECTION This delicate lattice vocabulary was combined with a load -bearing
wall system using the rough blocks of local gray granite.
It might also be correct to speak of light and shadow as a
fundamental texture among the main ideas of the set.
CONCLUSION ...
AND YOU KNOW WHAT IS THE
MOST IMPORTANT THING WHICH
DESCRIBES DESIGN?

because design is incomplete,

if it does not respect nature!

CAN YOU SEE THAT

LOUIS KHAN “We are born of light. The seasons are felt through the
light. We only know the world as it is evoked by light.”
WHO IS LOUIS KAHN ?

He was one of the United States' greatest 20th century architects, known
for combining Modernism with the weight and dignity of ancient monuments.
Though he did not arrive at his distinctive style until his early 50s,
and despite his death at the age of just 73, in a span of just two
decades Kahn came to be considered by many as part of the pantheon of
MODERNIST architects .

Louis khan was known for his masterful

use of materials.
At the Salk Institute, he utilized
concrete & teak wood to create a
dialogue between structure and nature.

Teak wood is the second most prominent

material used for the structure.
Its durable & water resistant qualities
soften the brutal nature of kahn’s raw
concrete.
