.,.' Health Mission and they are working in various co-located units i.e PHCs,
CHCs & other health institutions in the State in order to provide integrated
health care to the community under mainstreaming of AYUSH system of
medicine.
AYUSH doctors are required to maintain exclusive AYUSH OPD, treat
patients seeking medical care and prescribe medicines for ailments as per

their own system of medicine, provide assistance to the Medical Officer in
terms of technical assistance , co-ordination in other health programmes ,

handle emergency duty under guidance of Medical Officer (Allopathic) and

provide requisite support to handle higher patient load, supervise the ANMs,
Sub-Centres and also participate in lmmunization programmes, RCH/health
camps, supervision and monitoring of VHND & Pustikar Diwas and other
works as per their Terms Of Reference.
However, it has come to the notice of Government that some of the
AYUSH doctors are prescribing Allopathic system Medicines to patients during
their duty at Health institutions. Such prescription may lead to legal complicacy
including penal action in case of any challenge or result in mishap.
You are therefore , requested to instruct all AYUSH doctors working
under your adminislrative control to provide treatment as per their own
system of medicinO and restrain themselves from prescribing Allopathic

system of Medicine$. ln case, any discrepancy on observation of above

instructions will comb to the notice of Government, the concerned AYUSH
doctor will be terminated from service without assigning any reason thereof
