E. DEMAND ANALYSIS
REPUBLIC ACT NO.11771“An Act Establishing the Cagayan de Oro City Cultural Center and
Museum”
Duterte signed the demand for this project in the year 2022 in the Republic Act No. 11771, An Act
Establishing the Cagayan de Oro City Cultural Center and Museum in the Province of Misamis
Oriental. It states that the museums and cultural centers "shall serve as the institutional medium for
the protection, preservation, presentation, and promotion of the cultural, artistic, archaeological, social,
historical, religious and philosophical heritage" of the aforementioned city and provinces.

Sectoral Goal
A culturally-enriched City sensitive to its heritage, through the available resources and facilities that
empower its citizens to recognize, preserve, and harness the City’s historic and heritage properties,
both cultural and natural.

report also mentioned Cagayan De Oro City's growth from the previous year, which was 17,103, or
2.13% more annually. These figures refer to Cagayan De Oro City's urban agglomeration, which

The table shows the percentage and number of both variables–School Going-Age, and the percentage
of Working-Age in Cagayan de Oro. In addition, the population of Cagayan de Oro is predicted to rise
at an annual growth rate of 2.69%, from 602,088 in 2010 to 827,600 in 2022. The oldest age group will

According to the calculated age dependency ratios, there are 44 young dependents for every 100
people in Cagayan de Oro who are working age; 6 elderly or senior citizens for every 100 people who
are working age; and 50 dependents in total—young and old—for every 100 people who are working

A report by Isla Lipana & Co. (the Philippine member firm of PwC) that provides audit, tax, and
advisory services, highlights Cagayan de Oro's tourism industry. The city attracts roughly 640,000
tourists annually, with the vast majority (95%) being local visitors. Popular tourist destinations include
eco-tourism villages, parks, museums, and scenic landscapes.
