Academic Integrity

Academic integrity is taken very seriously in this class and at ASU. Academic dishonesty
falls into five broad areas that include but are not limited to:

1. Cheating on an academic evaluation or assignment (e.g., sharing quiz answers)

2. Plagiarizing.
3. Academic deceit, such as fabricating data or information.
4. Aiding academic integrity policy violations and inappropriately collaborating.
5. Falsifying academic records.

Academic dishonesty can result in severe consequences, ranging from failing a course to
being expelled from the university. Many students are unaware of what counts as academic
dishonesty. For example, many students do not recognize that trying to obtain credit on a
paper that they have used in a different class is considered plagiarism (self-
plagiarism). Make sure that you are familiar with what is considered academic
dishonesty. Please review ASU's policies on academic integrity HERE.
