24 APR IG AM 7:52 April 16, 2024 Jane Halsted, City Clerk City of Moreno Valley, CA Dear Mrs. Halsted It is with deep regret that | submit my resignation as Moreno Valley District 3 Councilman, effective April 16", 2024 @ 5pm PST. ! am honored to have worked with you and to have served my constituents for nearly 8 years. Ihave been under IIGIEEE-aused by the lawsuit brought against me by then Interim City Attorney Quintanilla and Councilmembers Baca Santa Cruz, Delgado and Barnard. Instead of simply trying to recall me or letting my term expire, they chose this path. It seems very wasteful as now my term will be over in about 6 months. This suit has cost me a considerable amount of money but it’s nothing compared to the financial burden imposed upon the taxpayers of Moreno Valley who must suffer from this personal vendetta against me. I'm hoping that my resignation “stops the bleeding” of more money extracted from city coffers and that their efforts to tarnish my good name will have failed. ‘As much as | have tried to move forward and perform my duties, (EE | have been advised to step away from my position with the city, leading me to make this difficult decision. Ihave worked along side so many great people, many of whom | consider personal friends. | ‘want to thank you for believing in me. It’s been a pleasure to serve with you to better our wonderful city.
