The podcast on why quitting has become a loud trend provides answers on how

employers can keep up with the new “quiet quitting” movement. The podcast suggests a strategic

shift in the organizational values by employers. Per the conversation between Ben-Archour, the

host, and Rosas, there are several key areas that employers can focus on during the strategic plots

to shift organizational values to keep up with the movement. Employers need to be empathetic

and understand the work-life balance needs of their employees (Ben-Archour & Rosas, 2022).

They should promote work cultures that offer flexibility, value employee’s well-being, and

recognize the effects of separation of location from work.

Employers should ensure that the communication channels at the workplace are effective

and transparent. They should also ensure that work expectations and deadlines are clearly

defined to make employees feel empowered and work with certainty. Employers should devise

programs that recognize employees' efforts and provide them with opportunities for career

development (Ben-Archour & Rosas, 2022). They should take note of the dynamism in the work

environment to help them adjust policies according. Employers should also consider creating

supportive work environments that understand the value of human resources.

As an accountant, I would apply these recommendations in my role. I would advocate for

policies that support remote operations and those that guarantee flexibility and support work-life

balance. I believe that by making communication openness and transparency a priority, all my

colleagues and superiors would be able to spot changes within the organization and be aware of

what is expected of them. In addition to that, I would work towards ensuring that the work

environment within the organization is supportive and inclusive. This would help all the other

employees feel valued and respected.

In a nutshell, it’s important to put forward supportive approaches that allow for flexibility

in the workplace. It’s also important to understand the feelings of employees. Such approaches

can help employers meet the needs of their employees enabling the organization to easily adapt

to the changing work environments.
