Our country and its wonders

Argentina is a country situated/located in South America/in the southern part of South

America. It’s the eighth largest country in the world, and the largest Spanish-speaking country.
Its population is over 45 million inhabitants. Argentina is bordered by Uruguay, Brazil,
Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile and the Atlantic Ocean.

Argentina’s capital and largest city is Buenos Aires, which has some of the most famous
buildings and monuments in the entire country. We can mention, for example, the Casa
Rosada (‘Pink House’), workplace of the executive power; the Colón Theatre, acoustically
considered the second best in the world; the Obelisco, a very well-known obelisk located in the
heart of the city; and Caminito, situated in a neighborhood called La Boca, known by its
colorful houses, streets of cobblestone and tango music, which represent the historical
heritage of the city.
