Title: Beat the Summer Heat: Crafting Cool Spaces for

Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades

I. Introduction
As the summer heat approaches, Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades (PSAT) is getting ready
for a transformation. With a focus on creativity and sustainability. Students are working on ways
to make our school cooler and greener. This is a way to creating a place where everyone can
beat the heat and enjoy learning in comfort.

II. Need for this Concept


The summer heat not only tests our resilience but also inspires us to rethink conventional cooling
methods. Our goal is not just to survive the heat, but to thrive amidst it, embracing sustainable
practices that shows PSAT’s commitment to innovation, students well being and environmental
sustainability.

III. Background
In Pangasinan, the intense summer heat poses challenges for learning. The high temperatures
make learning and working conditions uncomfortable, impacting knowledge gaining of students
and the teaching of teachers. Without a cooling solutions, schools struggles to maintain a
conducive learning environment during the hottest months. To address this issue, we are
motivated to implement innovative and sustainable cooling measures to enhance comfort and
learning on school.

IV. Project Description


Goal:
Make a place that is cool where students can learn and show their creativity. Also a place that the
teacher can teach comfortably.
Objectives:
This project suggest the following solutions:
Upcycled Shade Structures: Transforming discarded materials into vibrant shade structures
adorned with student artwork, providing cool and inviting spaces for relaxation and
collaboration.
DIY Cooling Stations: Empowering students to create their own DIY cooling stations using
recycled materials and innovative designs, allowing students to show their creativity and self-
sufficiency.
Cool Classroom Challenges: Launching campus-wide competitions to design and implement
sustainable cooling solutions in classrooms, inspiring friendly rivalry and sparking innovative
ideas.

V. Support or Budget
To bring make this possible, we rely on:
- The support of PSAT’s administration in providing access to resources and facilitating this
project.
- Collaboration with local environmental organizations and some private sectors to get some
supplies needed.
- The dedication of students and faculty members, who wants a cooler school
