MY EXPERIENCE DURING
RAMADHAN AND EID

It doesn't feel like Ramadan is so short, it doesn't feel like it's now entering
the month of Shawwal where Muslims call it Eid. i will share my experience
about Ramadan and Eid.

During the month of Ramadan, the government moves the school to the
mosque, and people around the neighborhood call it Ramadan boarding
school. I ran this Ramadan boarding school for two weeks, I was very happy
because I made many new friends.

Ramadan lasted for 1 month, when Eid came I returned to my hometown in

Tanah Datar district, specifically in the village of Pincuran Tujuh. The weather
in my hometown is so beautiful and there is still a lot of fresh air there
because there is no air pollution like in cities.
There the local community uses the tradition of bathing together in a river
called the Gadang River, when I bathed there the water was very cool and
cold in the background with a view of Mount Marapi.

At the time of Eid my family and I did not go anywhere because my relatives
did not return to my hometown, therefore I was only sorry to forgive my
family and grandparents, during Eid my mood was happy mixed with sadness
because I had left the month of Ramadan, a month full of blessings.

When Eid is over I went home to Padang with my family, on the way home we
stopped first at Rumah Makan Syukur there I tasted Minangkabau specialties
very tasty, one of which was ‘ Gulai Tambunsu’ which is buffalo intestine
curry filled with eggs and tofu then topped with coconut milk. After eating
together we continued the journey back home.
Arriving home the body feels tired, but I still remember the excitement of
Ramadan, hopefully in the next year I meet with Ramadan.
