This recommendation letter is written in favor of Mr. Moges Meresie Gebrehiwot who
has graduated with Master’s Degree in Plant Breeding from Wolaita Sodo University on 13
February 2024. I have an acquaintance with the individual since 2022 while he was studying in
the postgraduate Program. I have taught the postgraduate courses, namely “Advanced Genetics,
Advanced plant Breeding and Quantitative Genetics” in which the student performed very well. I
had also the opportunity to participate as a member of evaluators and the board of examiners in
his proposal and thesis defense examinations, respectively. In which the student performed very
well with very good results.
During his stay with us in the campus, Mr. Moges Meresie Gebrehiwot was sociable,
honest and well-adapted to the multi-cultural society of the university. Particularly, in the class
room, he was interactive with his instructors and classmates. Academically, the candidate has
high potential to learn and a hardworking person. He is very good in both spoken and written
English and can pass across his ideas to others very easily. I have, thus, a strong conviction that,
if the individual is given an employment opportunity in an organization, he will become an asset
and will contribute a lot to the development of that employer institution. Also, the individuals
have keen interest for long-term postgraduate studies and if he is given a scholarship opportunity
in his field of interest, I am confident that he can withstand the rigors of higher learning and
research and complete the study successfully within the expected period and can contribute
significantly with the acquired new skills and knowledge to the development of the country upon
return to his job.
