In this lesson, you will learn how visual and


multimedia elements contribute to a text.
Visual -
Are you ready? Let’s begin! a picture, piece of film, or
display used to illustrate
or accompany something.

Multimedia
an extension of hypertext
When you are reading, pictures, videos, or using audio and video
sounds help you understand the text better. material cross-referenced
to a computer text.

Here are different elements that make text come alive and contribute to the
reader's understanding:

1. Visual elements are included in the text to help the readers 'see' what they're
reading. These include:

 Pictures
 Drawings
 Comics and cartoons
 Diagrams

2. Multimedia elements combine more than one type of medium, typically in


digital form, such as on computers, audio players, tablets, smartphones, and
other technology. These elements help the
readers use sight, sound, and sometimes
even other senses to experience what
they're reading.

Examples of multimedia elements include:

 Video
 Audio recordings and sound effects,
 Interactive images
