Ref.
Unit OIS-199 Learners practices the Rigging lifting operation under direct control of
Rigging and instructor, moving loads using specific lifting techniques.
Lifting Training personnel dependents on number of learners: 3-4 (1
Operations instructor); 5-8 learners (2 instructors).

NOTE: if the number of learners is 6 to 8 persons, learners will be divided

into two teams. Each team will act separately, in a different rigging frame
level, conducting lifting operations in the opposite sequence.

Learners to practice as part of a team, conducting a rigging lifting operation,

identification and methods to determine the weight of the load by using
various methods and sources: 3.2
1) Check if the weight is marked on the load.
2) Check if the weight is indicated on any documentation (e.g., lift plan,
shipping documents, and manifest).
3) Check if the weight is indicated on the construction drawing of the load.
4) Estimating the weight

- Establishing communication methods, Verbal and hand signals in use

- Selection of Lifting equipment IAW lifting plan:
Chain blocks, Bow Shackle, Beam Super clamps, Flat webbing slings, Master link;
