A graded empanelled artist with Indian Council for Culture relations, a member of the
International Dance Council (CID, UNESCO) and had served as Vice President and
Honorary Secretary for ABHAI (Association of Bharatanatyam Artistes of India) forum.
Parvathi’s ultimate aim and life’s work has been to promote and keep alive Indian arts
amongst the youth.
An ‘A’ grade artist of Doordarshan and empanelled performer of ICCR. Parvathi has served
ABHAI Association of Bharathanatyam Artist of India as secretary, Vice President.
For over two decades the cultural wing of Kala Pradarshini has organized more than 1000
shows which include Vocal, Dance, Instrumental and Lecture Demonstrations.
Each year monthly programs and annual week long Art festivals are organized showcasing
the potential of talented youngsters and a galaxy of eminent international and national
artists. Kala Pradarshini pays an annual dance tribute for over 25 years, to Saint
Thyagaraja on Pancharatna Keerthanas.
Parvathi instituted Kala Pradarshini Ghantasala Puraskar to veterans who have carved a
niche for themselves in their field.
She has directed and produced many highly intellectual dance ballets, which has travelled
several times globally.
Parvathi has been recognized with many awards, to name a few Kalaimamani by Govt of
Tamil Nadu, Women Achiever Award, Aacharya Choodamani, Nritya Ratna by Bharatiya
Vidya Bhavan Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu Tourism Award, Life Time Achievement Award by
Trinity Art Festival and Doctor of Letters International Tamil University.
A mammoth classical fest in which Parvathi’s choreographic work has been learnt by more
than 450 Bharathanatyam artists who entered Guinness Book of World Records on 2nd
February 2020.
