MESSAGE
Natural gas plays a crucial role in catering global energy niche. In India However, its contribution
to countrywide energy demand is yet to be realized substantially. India envisages its energy
sufficiency by increasing its natural gas utilization by more than two folds by the year 2030 as
compared to current scenario. This increased share of natural gas in Indian energy portfolio shall
exhibit India’s commitment towards climate change initiatives.

Natural gas is not only an excellent and clean fuel but also, a key component in the operation
of major industrial sectors like power, fertilizer and petrochemicals. It exhibits its presence from
farm to factories and households. Therefore, an increased natural gas market share shall be a
synonym to holistic growth for India.

May this august gathering of all the delegates and participants at the expo be an enriching expe-
rience and lead to enhancement in collective wisdom whilst upholding the multifaceted growth

FIPI
Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry
The Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) is an apex Society of entities in the hydrocarbon sector
and acts as an industry interface with Government and regulatory authorities. It supports the Government
in resolution of issues and evolution of policies and regulations. It represents the industry on various
Government bodies, committees and task forces and has been instrumental in voicing industry concerns
with various ministries and regulators.
FIPI organizes seminars, conferences, workshops, roundtable meetings and brings out study reports to
support the Govt. with evidence based policy recommendation. FIPI, under the aegis of the Ministry of
Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG) provides support in organising India Energy Week (IEW), India’s

and is open to collaborate and forge alliances with international bodies and associations to promote the oil
