Proposed title:

“Exploring the Efficacy of ChatGPT in Reducing Workload Time for Teachers”

Statement of the problem

The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of ChatGPT in reducing workload time
for teachers. The following are some possible statements of the problem for this thesis:

1. What is the impact of using ChatGPT on the workload time of teachers?

2. How does ChatGPT affect the productivity and efficiency of teachers?
3. What are the benefits and drawbacks of using ChatGPT in reducing workload time for
teachers?
4. How can ChatGPT be integrated into the current teaching system to reduce workload
time for teachers?
5. What are the perceptions and attitudes of teachers towards using ChatGPT to reduce
workload time?

Theoretical Support
This study is supported by Symbolic AI. Symbolic AI algorithms are designed to deal
with the kind of problems that require human-like reasoning, such as planning, natural
language processing, and knowledge representation. However, it is difficult to attribute the
coinage of symbolic AI to a single individual. Researchers in the 1960s and 1970s were
convinced that symbolic approaches would eventually succeed in creating a machine with
artificial general intelligence. In addition to that, Alan Turing was a pioneer of artificial
intelligence, who proposed the Turing Test, a method for determining whether a machine
can exhibit human-like intelligence.

Significance of the study

1. This study will be beneficial to the following:
a) Professionals: Get help with writing, editing, or proofreading documents. It can also
assist in brainstorming ideas or providing insights on specific subjects.
b) Researchers: Using it as a tool for exploring new ideas, finding relevant research
papers, or getting assistance with data analysis.
c) Language Learners: Language learners can practice their language skills by having
conversations with ChatGPT. It can provide corrections, suggest alternative phrases,
or answer questions about grammar and vocabulary.

d) Students: ChatGPT can help with homework, explanations, and reference in
essay/creative writing ideas.

Participants of the study

The participants of the study are the senior high school teachers of St. Joseph
Academy of El Salvador. Senior high school teachers need to have a more in-depth
knowledge of the content they are teaching and be able to provide more advanced
instruction. Additionally, senior high school students are often required to conduct
research as part of their coursework, so their teachers need to be able to guide them
through the process (Roxas, 2020).

Research Design
This study is a qualitative narrative research. This design explores participants’
accounts to gain insights into their experiences and perspectives towards the ChatGPT.

Data Gathering Procedure

The study will use a questionnaire that includes open-ended questions based on the
problem statement. When the participants were done answering, the researcher will use
thematic analysis to categorize and interpret the provided answers.
