USER GUIDE

1) INSTALLATION OF GLCD PROGRAMMER
1-Firstly insert CD that is given with our product. CD will run automatically and Off-line version of
www.aybey.com will be seen. You can load the GLCD Programmer installation files to your
computer as defined below.
2-Load the installation files to a suitable directory.( By default it will load to C:\aybey\ directory)
3-Open installation files directory and run setup.exe. Press OK button to skip the questions on the
screen. The Program will be loaded to the C:/Program Files/GLCD directory. To load a different
directory press “change directory” button and then select directory.
4-Program will be loaded with the name of GLCD. You can reach the program by that way:
START! PROGRAMS !GLCD
2) INSTALLATION OF HARDWARE
Please follow the steps below to connect GLCD to PC .
1-Connect the serial cable (that is given with GLCD) to the serial port of your computer (Known as:
COM1, COM2 or RS232 ).
2- Connect GLCD to the power supply. Connect DC power supply between (V+ ve V-). V+ is
positive voltage and the voltage difference between V+ and V- must be in the range of 15 - 24 V .

3) AREA DEFINITIONS AND SCREENS
GLCD has 2 areas. These areas can be programmed separately. They are shown below.

Areas are named as number and text. In these areas you can program GLCD to show icon,
number, full screen picture, text and arrow.
4) PROPERTIES OF AREAS
TEXT AREA
Text area has 2 parts, 3 lines at the upper side (1-3), 3 lines at the lower side (4-6),so the total is 6
lines, every line can be programmed separately.
You can set 7 different options for every lines at the text area :
a) General Subtitle : The message that is shown at all floors at the related line.
b) Subtitle special to floor : The message that is shown at the related line special to floor.
c) Time : Time message that is shown at the related line
d) Date : Date message that is shown at the related line
e) Day : Day message that is shown at the related line
f) Arrow : Arrow message that is shown at the related line
g) Empty : Empty message that is shown at the related line
WARNING If an arrow is wanted at the one of the lines, other lines can not show anything and only
an arrow is shown on text area. For example if arrow is selected for the line 2 then line1
and line3 also shows arrow.

NUMBER AREA
There are 9 different options at the number area.
a) Floor Number : Shows the floor number. 1 or 2 characters can be used for the floor indicator.
b) Special floor icon : Shows special floor icon which can be selected from the icons that are present
in GLCD or prepared by user.
c) General icon : Shows general icon (for all floors) which can be selected from the icons that are
present in GLCD or prepared by user.
d) Arrow : Shows selected arrow symbol.
e) Programmable Picture 0-1-2 : Shows full screen picture that will be shown at all floors. (picture
is prepared by user)
f) Special floor picture : Shows full screen picture that is programmed by user.
e) Empty : Nothing shown at the number area.
WARNING Programmable picture 0-1-2 is the full screen pictures 0,1 and 2. of user according to
GLCD index number.
WARNING To form Special floor pictures and Programmable pictures and to send them to the
2 GLCD is the mission of user. There is no factory loaded pictures.

5) To Program GLCD by using PC
1- Connect one end of the RS232 cable to GLCD and other end to the serial communication port
(COM1,COM2 ….) of PC
2- Connect power supply at (V+) (V-) terminals.

e) Saving Content in File
You can keep the content of GLCD in your own PC. You can load lots of GLCD configurations in
your disk, you can reserve, and whenever you want you can load them back to GLCD. Thus you can
use a configuration in lots of GLCD and you can make all changes. To keep the content of GLCD in
file, you have to click 'Save Fields to File' button. Name your file, and choose the directory that you
want to load the file. If a directory is not choosen GLCD Programmer will keep the file in the
eprom_images directory.
If you want to load the files that you saved before, you have to click 'Load Fields from File' button.
Click the file that you saved before and click open button from the dialogue box. File will be loaded
to GLCD Programmer content. If you did not determined a directory when you were saving
configuration file , your file will be kept in the eprom_images directory.
g) Preview Window
In this window you can see the GLCD setup. By this property, to programme GLCD becomes very
easy. You can make all changes and can see them on GLCD.
Preview can be done in two way. Firstly you must choose the floor number that you want to preview.
If you want to preview with floor number you have to click 'preview(with floor number)', but if you
want to preview with floor icon you have to click 'preview(with floor icon)' button.
h) Floor Settings
You can do all special settings in that picture(floor texts, icon). You have to choose the floor number
before changing the floor settings. After this, all changes will be special to that floor. The settings you
can change are defined below :
WARNING The changes that you made at GLCD Programmer will not be sent if you don't click
save all records button. When you have made all the changes you have to click save
all records button to send and save settings. If you want to save these record only to
file you have to click save fields to file. Saving to file is told above.
i) GENERAL TEXT
In this picture you can organize global text, global icon, global overload and global service mode that
will be seen at all floors.

j) SYSTEM SETTINGS
You can view moving, approaching to floor, at the floor cases in this picture. You can determine
number and text elements for 3 different conditions ( moving, approaching to floor, at the floor). You
can programme every line for three different cases.
h) OTHER SETTINGS

6- GLCD uses different algorithms during transforming to GLCD format. The pictures that are
loaded to GLCD will have a new dimension automatically, and colourful pictures becomes
colourless. If details are important we advice you to use sensitivity setup is detailed, and if
details are not important (like graphics,texts,logos) we advice you to use undetailed setup.
Undetailed setup is chosen by default. You can load the same picture with different setup and
see the result from the icon window. Lastly loaded picture will be valid and will be sent to
GLCD.
7- Click ''load picture'' button and choose the picture. Transform will start in the same time. You
can follow the process from the state bar. When the process is okay you will see 'the picture
is transformed successfully' message.
8- Follow the steps from 5 to program picture,icon and arrow again.
Index and format selection > sensitivity selection >loading picture
9-When you finished everything click send to LCD button. Saving period will start and you can
see the period from state bar. If an error occurs click the same button again. If the same error is
continuing you have to restart GLCD (without closing GLCD Logo Editor) and click send to
LCD button
10- If saving period is okay, to view the files on GLCD you can click preview button. If an error
did not occur pictures are ready. You can reach full screen pictures, icons, arrows from the GLCD
Programmer or the menu in GLCD.

EDIT TEXT : Floor texts, number, icon and pictures are set by this button and preview can
be done.
GLOBAL TEXT : You can change texts, icons, service mode and overload texts by using this
button.
SETUP : All configuration settings can be done by this button .
CLOCK/DATE : You can set the time and set show font by this button.
LANGUAGE : GLCD menu language can be set (Turkish/English) by this button.
ARROW SET : Arrow animation position and style can be designed by this button.
DEF. SETUP : It returns to the factory settings if you accept.
SIMULATOR : You can reach simulator settings by clicking this button.

TEXT INPUT MENU OF GLCD MODULE
Before entering menu of text input, you have to choose the floor that you will change and set
writings.
ENTER TEXT 8.FLOOR If you want to write a text that is special to floor
E0 SUBTITLE you have to follow the steps below. When you
E1 NUMBER enter the 'Text' it will ask you which floor do you
E2 SIDE TEXT want to set. Enter the Floor Number. By using

INC and DEC buttons we choose the character.
E5 PREVIEW_N Than press enter shortly. The cursor will stop
E6 PREVIEW_P blinking. We choose the character with INC and
<< BACK DEC buttons. Save the character by pressing
ENT shortly. Now again we can see the
characters of underline by pressing INC and
DEC buttons. Until the end of text you have to
follow this steps. To save settings you have to press ENT for a long time,and than go back to uppuer
menu. If you want to exit without saving, press INC and DEC at the same time.
All these steps are valid for floor icon and the pictures that are special to floor.
Furthermore, you can see a preview of floor number by using Preview_P button.

GLCD Module Global Text Menu
By using GLCD Global Text Menu you can organise Global subtitle, Global side text, Global icon,
Global service text, Global overload text.
Global text and global icon is not related to floor,
GLOBAL TEXT they can be seen at all floors.

Number
You have to choose number font. Furthermore, for the positions of at the floor, approaching to
floor and movement:
0- For Empty Projection
1-Show floor number.
2-Show floor picture
3-Show general picture
4-Show arrow
5-Programmable Picture 0 ( Full screen picture with 0 index, seem at all floors)
6-Programmable Picture 1 ( Full screen picture with 1 index, seem at all floors)
7-Programmable Picture 2 (Full screen picture with 2 index, seem at all floors)
8-Full screen picture that is special to floor.
WARNING If you choose a full screen picture all other pictures will be closed.

GLCD Module Default Settings Menu

GLCD returns to default settings with this menu. Floor numbers are shown with 0-31 numbers. All
the personal settings will be deleted. There will be an arrow on the side title. You can turn back to
fabric settings by pressing right button (DEC) .
GLCD Module Simulator Menu
SIMULATOR
D0 STATE 0 GLCD includes a simulator to see the settings
D1 FLOOR NO 03 without connecting a board. The parameters
D2 MOTION 5 below are used for simulator settings.
