1. A volleyball setter sets the ball straight upwards, intending for a quick
attack spike. The ball reaches its highest point after 1 second, but the hitter
fails to jump for it. As a result, the ball falls freely for 3 seconds and hit the
ground. Find out the maximum height the ball reaches and its velocity just
before hitting the ground.

2. A boy is doing a bottle flip challenge for TikTok where he will flip the bottle
straight upwards and let it land on the ground with a successful flip. It took 2
seconds for the bottle to reach its highest point and flip midair. Afterwards, the
bottle does a free fall motion which takes 4 seconds. Calculate the maximum
height the ball reaches and the velocity of the ball before it hits the ground.

3. Stephen Curry was practicing his receiving skills in tennis by hitting the
tennis ball straight upwards as high as he can. As the tennis ball stopped
midair and went in a free fall motion from a high point. Regrettably, Steph
Curry missed hitting the ball back up and it landed on the ground. Its velocity
upon reaching near the ground was -49 m/s. Calculate the average velocity of
the tennis ball.

4. An apple fell from a tree due to gravity and it reached -30m/s before
reaching the ground. How long did it take for the apple to reach the ground?
5. Lebron James started playing sepak takraw. In his first try, he kicked the
ball straight upwards and it reached 16 meters. Calculate the takeoff speed of
the ball right after it was kicked.
