highlight films that express unique visions and the experiences of young people in the modern world.

SUBMISSIONS:

When submitting to the festival you are agreeing that if chosen to screen during the dates of the festival, Fling! will not pay any additional
screening fees presented by the submitter. The only exception would be if it is agreed upon prior to a films submission. The submission fees vary
and are non-refundable. We try to keep fees as low as possible to prevent them from being a barrier to young film-makers.

ENTRY REGULATIONS:

Fling! is partially competitive with selected films shown alongside non-competitive features and documentaries. Fling! reserves the right to
determine the eligibility of any project submitted. All films must be Highland Premieres. There is no limit to the number of entries.

FILM/VIDEO ENTRIES:

All foreign language entries must have English subtitles. Projects must be submitted for consideration on DVD, BluRay or as an online screener.
We require films to be sent in the PAL format. Screening material, press and any application materials will not be returned. Accepted formats for
Fling! are DVD, BluRay or DCP for festival presentation.

ENTRY DEADLINES:

All film submissions must be received no later than their respective deadlines:

The reason i think this would be a good Competition to enter into is because...
the entry date is perfect, with alot of time to spare and its a very lenient competition with not many rules so its free range of creativity without
worrying about going wrong with the rules and regulations. This competition hasn't got a big entry fee which makes it accessible to me and is
running its 6th year which means its clearly somewhat successful but hopefully not so much so that i dont have a chance. This company also
holds the perfect genre for submission being documentary short film. This company is based in the uk as well so if i potentially win travelling far
is not necessary which is always a plus too. This festival also has all 5 star reviews which means it is reliable, authentic and reasonable.

OUTLINE OF FINAL IDEA…
For my final idea I want to create a docudrama based on conspiracy theories, Conspiracy theories is a good idea since there is a large
contrast between education and entertainment, i still need to think about what genre i would match to this idea, potentially sci/fi. I
myself enjoy sci/fi it is my favourite genre of film so creating my own would be exiting and interesting which would keep me
motivated as i know how much i would enjoy researching this topic. There are so many different conspiracy theories that i wouldn't
be limited to what to chose for my headlined theory to create a narrative out of. I would also meanwhile look into real life stories for
educational potential towards my docudrama as it is needed for this style of film. my Generation, which will be my target audience is
very interested in crime and conspiracy's as especially during lockdown they were rife. Everyone has heard about one theory or
another and everyone would have their own opinion so i think making my audience connect with my project through being quite
cinematically realistic to help my audience believe in the content im portraying. For this my target audience will be my generation id
say from ages 15- 22, this is because I think younger people are more ikeminded and have a larger imagination.
ETHICS AND SUSTAINABILITY…
The impact of my docudrama on my audience will hopefully be to widen their state of mind and to be more open minded to
the idea that just because something hasnt been scientifically proven doesn't mean its not real/ true. I want to engage the
audience emotionally and psychologically. During the focus groups me and my peers have supported eachother throughout
this process helping eachother build and grow ideas which is nice to engage in abit of teamwork so it feels like isolated and is
also helpful for the project as it creates more dimension for the planning which will lead to a successful production. Being
open with my ideas lets people around me share theirs, in order to expect help you have to help other people too, thats how
teamwork works; this has been effective whilst working with peers. i like to ask peers and people around me constantly what
they think of my ideas and i handle constructive criticism as this production is aimed towards the age of people i am asking so
its always useful. Taking ideas and influence from websites and tv with facts and ideas or experience's in is also truly helpful
and crediting their work is always necessary whether thats by including their name and their work credits or referencing. I
dont want my work to be perceived as being in factual or misleading so i will have to make sure i mention alot of its already
interpreted by the topic or not regardless.
