more care is needed for elderly. Generational gap further causes elderly to suffer in loneliness which
leads to cognitive impairment and even premature death. With solutions such as companion robots,
their efficacies are limited due to their value for money. Moreover, elderly just need companionship from
caregivers, who do not have time for them due to daily commitments.

[Slide8]Introducing our Elder Care App, APCEY an AI companion app designed to provide affordable
emotional support and bridge generation gap! Basically, it serves as a companion to elderly, and an
assistant to caregivers. Let’s take a look. This is, Pak Long, he regrets of gambling too much, he shares his
thoughts into our app, he wishes his son don’t repeat his mistake. This is Ah Biao, his son. Our app
actively listen to Pak Long, generates natural, friendly response to Pak Long, and compose his thoughts
to Ah Biao. Pak Long wants to have a meeting call with Ah Biao, a busy guy. At our system side, we
schedule a meeting session, based on time zones, GPS location, and busy periods. Every week, Ah Biao
can gain valuable insights into elderly’s mood using sentiment analysis and elderly’s interests.

Alright, now Pak Long gets bored, our app now playing Hokkien music to him, and yeah that’s all APCEY
features. Thanks Pak Long!

Lets dont underestimate the capability of this simple app. Simple, clean, but effective. Powered by GPT,
its capability outperform any existing companion app, or robots. We have benchmarked our initial
prototype, driven by GPT-3.5, for you guys to take a look. Notice that our system supports multiple
languages, comprehensive sentiment analysis, and more natural response. Best case, our solution is
much more affordable.

As such, we believe AI companion can reduce elderly’s loneliness, foster emotional connections between
elderly and caregiver, and promotes a healthy lifestyle. In the future, anonymous data collected may help
our team to better understand elderly’s emotional needs and evolve to a more effective solutions.
