If an application fee payment is required, you have the following payment options:

1. ONLINE PAYMENT
• Online payment is the easiest and fastest way to pay your application fee.
• If you select “online payment”, you will be directed to the online payment
portal.
• Proceed to the “Payment options” section.
• By selecting the card option, you will be directed to the electronic payment
screen.

2. ALREADY PAID
• If you have already paid, please select the “I have already paid” option.
• You will be required to complete the payment details and upload your proof of
payment.

3. EFT PAYMENT
• The guideline for an EFT payment is as follows:
o Stellenbosch University is registered as an approved beneficiary on all
major banking websites. It is therefore unnecessary to insert our
bank account details when registering us as a beneficiary.
o Simply select ‘Stellenbosch University Student Fees’ from the
approved beneficiary list and use your unique application ID as
reference to add us as a beneficiary.

4. EXEMPTION OF AN APPLICATION FEE

• Depending on the programme you are applying to, or the quantile of your
school, you might be exempt from any application fee.
• If this applies to your application, you will see “Application Fee – R0.00” on
the Payment and agreement page.

5. WAIVING OF THE APPLICATION FEE

• Please note that undergraduate applicants form quantile 1 to 4 schools does
not pay an application fee.
• If you have any financial challenges paying your application fee, please send
your motivation to our Client Service Centre at info@sun.ac.za.
• Please note: This option is only available to South Africans applying to
Stellenbosch and/or Tygerberg campus.
