Dear Mrs/Ms. Motloung

I would like to apply for the ROSOND(Pty) bursary. I am currently studying my second year
of Mechanical Engineering(BEngTech) at the University of Johannesburg
I am a solution-driven individual who finds opportunities in helping others and
communicating ideas for development. I had been given the opportunity to become an RCL
at Krugersdorp Highschool in 2021, which improved my communication skills with
authorities in the work environment and the university. I had an average of 67% with 3
distinctions in Workshop Skills, Engineering Design, and Engineering communication. For
the next 5 years, I am planning on getting a qualification in Product Design and an
engineering license in Mechanical Engineering.
My lifelong goal is to empower neglected communities that cannot transition and adapt to the
4th Industrial Revolution environment. This stems from observing the poor living conditions
and service delivery in the rural areas of the North West, where my grandmother has been
residing. I would like to propose my philosophy of self-sustainability to people living in those
environments in the form of workshops and trade schools to target the core needs of those
communities. My active goal is to gain as many skills as possible that are relevant and
lucrative in the current economy of South Africa, hence why I am planning on studying 3
courses in the next 5 years, that being Community Development, Product Design, and
Mechanical Engineering. With the bursary provided by the ROSOND company, I will use
this time to honor the assistance provided by the company, to further understand my
environment, and ultimately use the knowledge gained from my studies to educate and
empower young and willing individuals alike.
Thank you for considering my request for the application. I appreciate this opportunity being
given to me and I will make the most of it.
Sincerely,
Phenyo Seichoko
