Dear Grant,
PX
I'm writing to emphasize the pressing need for immediate action concerning San
Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) securing healthcare insurance coverage. This issue
has negatively impacted numerous individuals in our community, making it difficult for
them to afford essential medical care (Tulane University, 2020).
SF

The absence of healthcare insurance has resulted in significant repercussions, leading

to an uptick in untreated medical conditions, increased hospitalizations, and
deteriorating health outcomes. Individuals lacking coverage often postpone seeking
R

medical assistance, potentially resulting in higher healthcare costs in the long run
(Tolbert et al., 2020).
U

Addressing this issue offers multiple benefits, including enhancing individual health,
alleviating pressure on emergency departments, and reducing healthcare expenses.
N

Access to health insurance guarantees timely medical interventions, which can mitigate
the progression of illnesses and reduce hospital admissions (WHO, 2021).

Neglecting to tackle this issue could lead to financial strain for families, diminished
healthcare access, prolonged wait times in emergency rooms, and poorer health

outcomes. The absence of coverage also contributes to escalating healthcare costs and
compromised quality of care (Crowley & Bornstein, 2019).

Proposed solutions entail expanding Medicaid coverage, offering more affordable

healthcare plans, and promoting insurance enrollment. It's crucial to incorporate cultural
sensitivity and ethical considerations to ensure fairness and equity in healthcare access
(Stubbe, 2020; Haddad & Geiger, 2020).

As a nurse, I've directly witnessed the challenges stemming from inadequate healthcare
coverage. Limited resources make it difficult to provide high-quality care to everyone.

m
I've observed patients grappling with affording medical treatments, placing strain on
both individuals and healthcare institutions.

o
I urge you to take decisive action to enhance access to healthcare coverage. This
measure will not only improve individual health but also alleviate financial burdens and

.c
foster equitable access to medical care.
PX
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
