DOES AGE MATTER?

Does a person's age affect their point of view? How does

someone's age affect the way they see things? Does age
really matter when it comes to decision making?
Well yes and no, I believe this question is quite
subjective although there are some facts to look at. For
example, there is a saying that "as you grow old,you
become wiser and more mature", and this is true to an
extent. Yes, most young people (that is children and
teenagers), especially nowadays are seen to be becoming
worse and worse in the eyes of adults when it comes to
maturity and respect, but not all teenagers and children
are like that. And just like not all kids behave immature
and disrespectful, not all adults are mature and/or wise.
There is a saying about training up a child in a way
he or she should grow, meaning, however you train your
child, the habits they pick up, the amount of respect they
have and show, will determine how they will act or
behave when they become adults. A person who did not
learn proper manners from a young age will eventually
show it as they grow up, yes people change, but that is
not always the case.
They say people could either learn from their
experience, someone else's experience or just a simple
instruction given to them. A child, on their own can pick
up good habits and learn how to be mature at a young
age, sometimes depending on their situations and
circumstances. Of course not everyone is the same, we
do not all think, reason or learn the same way, and that
also plays a huge role in decision making.
Of course while growing you experience many
things, make mistakes and learn from them and with age
definitely comes wisdom, there is no doubt about that
but it does not change the fact that not all adults are
wise, not all adults make good decisions and not all
adults are mature. Well, being young often means you
are inexperienced in many fields, and that could be a
huge disadvantage when it comes to making important
decisions, it leads to people always having thoughts like
"I wish I...", "Oh If only I knew...", "I could have
just...", and so many other statements expressing regret
when they get older.
A child or teenager can actually be mature and
smart enough to make decisions properly, knowing the
right thing to do and doing it, also while knowing what
is wrong and keeping away from it for his/her own good.
In that case age would not really matter that much
especially bacause there are lots of adults who make
reckless and impetous decisions.
In conclusion, I think age plays a significant role in
decision making, but overall does not matter that much
due to other facts and circumstances.
