Job Title: Public Relation Executive


Reports to: To the Managing Trustee and Managing Director

Job Purpose: To provide assistance to the Managing Director of the organization in identifying
donor resources, raising funds, and writing proposals for long-term organizational sustainability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Administration (Advisory functions):


 Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on an a daily basis
 Develop and monitor donor database and identify and inform donor opportunities matching
the work of the organization
 Assist the Managing Director in developing business plans to generate income from various
sources
 Assist the Managing Director in writing concept notes, project ideas, sponsorship appeals,
and project proposals and ensure their timely submission
 Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate
recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
 Preparing annual income and expenditure fundraising budgets for approval
 Set up a process for reviewing the efficacy of response forms

Fundraising and campaigning:


 Attending relevant fundraising forums
 Undertake online research and build contacts with potential individual donors and raise funds
for the activities of the organization
 Undertake online fundraising agency and independent research in finding alternative
resources for long-term sustainability of the organization
 Identifying new companies for attaining funds and providing administrative guidance to the
volunteers and interns, assigning and scheduling their work and motivating them to complete
the target inside deadlines
 Develop and execute the promotional product publicity campaign

Marketing and promotion:


 Improve and develop communications material for the organization such as brochure,
website, annual report, newsletters, DVD, poster, etc.
 Build relationships with high profile and high net worth individuals as potential donors to the
charity.
 Identify the new corporates in Goa India.
 Attend networking events and meetings with potential donors.
 Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization
 Write press releases and working closely with Public Relations companies and media houses
 Plan and design the development of pamphlets, posters, and campaign materials.

 Liaising with copywriter, printer etc. to produce fundraising promotional material


 Raise the profile of El Shaddai by creating flyers and involving Govt Officials to know about
the work of EL Shaddai.
 Scan the market and segment for new opportunities for development
 Develop communication campaigns and/or initiatives targeted at civil society, government,
and corporate sectors (print, radio, electronic)

Reporting:

 Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organizations (international
foundations, agencies, and private corporations offering donations)
 Update the Managing Director with information about organization’s work
 Updating databases and preparing reports on weekly basis
 Update the short documentaries and potential sponsor details

Grants and Awards:


 Managing the grant application process and ensuring that reporting is tracked and meets
donors' expectations
 Researching and approaching trusts, government agencies and other bodies that could
potentially make grants to the Organization
 Documentation of new policies, decisions, and filing of documents to create an
organizational memory in the archives

Correspondence and communication:


 Develop and review communications strategy in line with company strategy
 Nurture relationships with existing/major donors and respond to their requests regularly and
keep updating them about the work of the organization
 Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization
 Communicating with the public: online, via the media, through direct mail etc.
 Attending meetings with donors and governmental official for implementation of new
policies and settings
 Use social media platforms to create dialogue in the public space
 Provide internal communications support (including design, editing, online support, and
report/article writing)

* Note You may also have to carry out specific tasks as assigned by the Managing Director and
Managing Trustee.
Key Working Relationships The Personal Relations Executive will be working with units/other
staff.

Hours of Work: 8.30 hrs. Duration of Contract: 1 year
