Benefits :
Phosphate and Fluoride are collected back from the effluent of ANP plant and are further
concentrated. Then they are recycled and sent back to the ANP plant for blending
purpose along with fresh raw material for production of fertilizer i.e. ANP. Through
this process there is a considerable reduction in waste generation as well as in utilization
of fresh raw material.
GNFC has also generated a Net Revenue of Rs. 2.13 Crores during the year 2013-14
through recycling of ANP plant effluent.

The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is
one of the flexibility mechanisms defined in the

two CDM projects registered with the United

Tree Transplantation
Besides the ecological services that trees provide, they are also important from the
perspective of climate change. Cutting down of trees is not only a loss of carbon sink/
sequestration but it also results in addition of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere due to
decomposition of organic material of the tree.
Since trees are usually one of the first victims of any development project, the endeavor
of protecting tress is pursued at GNFC. Tree transplantation is carried out at GNFC
complex to promote carbon neutral development and reduce the carbon footprint of
GNFC.

at Narmada College
Campus
In the year 2000, a new building construction for an MBA College was
planned. Surroundings were developed keeping in view an old Banyan tree in
the campus so that the old Banyan tree is preserved. The new construction
along with the Banyan tree gives a holistic view with a feeling of “Chora” we
generally see in a village.
During the civil construction work for campus development in the year 2005-
06, adequate care was taken during the planning stage to ensure that not a
single tree was either cut or even trimmed. All the trees, including those in the
parking area were preserved as they were before.

Dependence on Surface
Water rather than
ground water
GNFC has purposely chosen to use surface water instead of ground water in
order to avoid negative impacts on the ground water tables of the
neighboring areas. The two major sources of surface water employed by

Canal) and Zanor Water Supply Scheme(through Narmada River)

All the 18 villages included in this project have water quality problems as the
