1. What is poetry?

, to me poetry is a type of literature, an art where in you

express yourself or your feelings in a way using words and verses which typically
rhyme and have a certail rhythm.

2. How does it differ from other forms of literature?, It mostly differs by its
theme of each verse rhyming, other than that for me it expresses more by being
sometimes metaphorical and such.

3. Give the different kinds of poetry. there are many types of poetry, theres the
Japanese Haiku, the Elegy used in funerals, Ballads which are typically turned into
songs, Epic which tells a story. And many many more and each as interesting as the
last.

4. Write the significance of these terms in poetry

a. Rhyme: Rhyming is one of if not the most distinctive part of a poem, its what
makes it a poem and such without it Rhyming it wouldnt be a poem.

b. Figure of speech: Figures of Speech are absolutely essential in pushing the

narative and adding feeling to the words being used in the poem, a poem must have
emotion, feeling and figures of speech absolutely helps as one of the main driving
forces in what makes a poem great.

c. Rhyme Scheme: its important as it works as the foundation for the poem, it
serves as a guide to assist the writer in knowing what kinds of words he must use
at the end of every verse so it may rhyme.
