GENERAL WORKING PRACTICES

Working Rules:
 Speak 100% English in front of all students and parents, even more
enthusiastically when they are inside the center.
 DO NOT reveal your real age to the students
 Pay close attention to prevent all kinds of accidents.
 Teachers and JAs/TAs must be present 15 minutes prior to the official start time of
your class. (For JAs/TAs who have Before Class, you must be present 45 minutes
earlier prior to the official start time.)
 Teachers must stay at least 15 more minutes after class to support sending
students.
 JAs/TAs must be active and flexible when sending students; follow center
managers’ or admins’ instructions and stay until all your students go home.
 Both Teachers and JAs/TAs need to find an appropriate person who has the same
level with you in order to send/accept requests of substitution, or cover, effectively
and this must be informed to and approved of by specific person(s) in charge.
 Dress professionally (No T-shirts nor jeans allowed).
 Dress code: Shirt & Tailored pants (Males) with a compulsory dark-colored tie /
Skirts or Dresses of knee-length (Females)
 Conduct yourselves professionally.
 Maintain professionalism.
 Be calm and patient.
 Be friendly but assertive.
 Be creative, active and humorous.
 Respect students.
 Show an interest in the learners.
 Monitor activities and interactions.
 Correct students’ mistakes when appropriate.
 Turn off the equipment the right way.
 Make sure the students have at least 30 minutes in the Before / After Class.
 Not taking days off on 2 consecutive months
 Inform Ms. Chloe about your absenteeism + the name of substituting person in
advance (at least 24 hours before the class day).
 Inform the center for at least 45-60 days in advance before stopping working at the
center.

Both Teacher and JA/TA SHOULD NOT:


 Arrive late and/or be visibly unprepared.
 Shout and lose their temper.
 Sit down too much (So be active!).
 Use phone for personal purposes during teaching hours.
 Let students leave the classroom unsupervised or leave the center.
 Talk too much without giving learners a chance to talk.
 Talk privately to students’ parents without request from the Board of Manager.

What Teachers WILL do:


 Be present at least 15 minutes before the start time to gather teaching materials &
tools, then stay in class to welcome the students and settle them down
 Deliver the premade lessons in accordance with the Center’s requirement.
 Check attendance.
 Set and mark homework.
 Supervise the students during the lesson.
 Write comments for the students after class using Online Comment & highlight
weakest student(s) as per instructions.
 Speak 100% English
 Focus more on new and weak students (make sure they will improve in the
shortest period of time)
 Report any cases of abnormality to person(s) in charge
What JAs/TAs WILL do:
 Help monitor the students during activities, ensure the flow of the activities &
make sure Ss have fun.
 Help set up games. Keep score and award points.
 Help demonstrate activities with the Teacher.
 Sit next to any weaker students/students who find it challenging to concentrate for
longer periods of time to help keep them on task.
 Pair up with a student to make up a pair if there are an odd number of students.
 Speak English (90%, in case some kids cannot speak and they do not understand
how to do the worksheet, or when solving problems related with discipline).
 Focus more on new and weak students (make sure they will improve in the
shortest period of time)
 Report any cases of abnormality to person(s) in charge

What students are expected to do:


 Speak 100% English if they want to talk with Teachers and JAs/TAs.
 Focus on the lesson.
 Listen to the Teachers and JAs/TAs (they must not read books, use iPad or mobile
phones for games).
 Speak with their friends or express themselves appropriately (using English).
 Participate actively in games.
 Be active.
VIOLATION POLICY
1. General cases
 After receiving 02 warnings within the span of 30 days.
 02 incidents of late arrival or 01 of arriving ≥ 30 minutes late, or urgent absence
without notice within 6 hours.
 01 incident of being absent without substitutions and/or informing.
 Multiple incidents of inappropriate clothing.
 Not turning off electrical devices after class.
 Any accidents occurring during class.
 Not attending important training sessions (any cases of absence must be informed
to corresponding team leaders prior to the day of training, with proof provided
such as exam timetable, doctor’s prescription, etc.)

2. Specific cases
a) Teachers & JAs/TA
 Ss remembering less than 80% of the reminder’s contents, except special cases
approved by Ms. Ngân or Ms. Hằng (including before/after class, Ss with extra
worksheets)
 Not reporting special cases to Center Manager in time. Upon Ms. Ngan’s or
Center Manager’s discovery of any Ss falling behind without prior notice, a
violation form will be issued.
 Any Ss being moved down due to lack of progress compared to previous
course(s). In case no solutions are available, report and work with the Center
Manager. Keeping a lagged behind student in class for an extensive amount of
time without taking any corrective actions if strictly prohibited
 Ineffective or time-consuming before/after class teaching. Make sure to get the
materials and teaching aids ready and start as soon as the students come. Contact
admins if any further instructions on before/after class are needed. Training will
then be provided accordingly.
 Upon receiving complaints from Ss’ parents, which will be reviewed, and a
violation form will be issued regarding areas that match (decline in quality or
teaching staff’s neglect)
 Any matters relating to the use of Vietnamese: using Vietnamese to teach, using
Vietnamese in front of Ss, not stopping colleagues or Ss from speaking
Vietnamese.
 Not carrying out direct orders from Ms. Ngân, which are classified as
important/urgent and need immediate actions.
b) Admins
 Failing to meet the deadline. Any difficulties must be well reported before the
deadline, if else, a violation will be issued.
 Not attending periodical meeting with Ms. Ngân, Ms. Hằng, Academic Managers,
Teachers & JAs/TAs.
 Not carrying out direct orders from Ms. Ngân, which are classified as
important/urgent and need immediate actions.
 Not calling to inform parents of Ss’ progress according to set plans OR receiving
parent’s complaints on not calling them.
c) Managers
 Failing to meet the deadline. Any difficulties must be well reported before the
deadline, if else, a violation will be issued.
 Not carrying out direct orders from Ms. Ngân, which are classified as
important/urgent and need immediate actions.
 Covering up any wrongdoings or special cases
