Important Notice for all Civil Society Organizations in Ethiopia!

The Authority for Civil Society Organization (ACSO) has issued a letter of
instruction on 18 April 2024. The instruction mandating all Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs) to register their property, in alignment with Article 61 of
Proclamation no 1113/2019. This instruction aims to enhance compliance and
accountability within the sector by necessitating CSOs to record their
property.

ACSO has initiated a property registration process with dual objectives: firstly,
to gather comprehensive data regarding property holdings within the civil
society sector, and secondly, to facilitate regulatory oversight. By registering
their properties, CSOs enable the Authority to monitor and ensure that these
assets are utilized for their intended purposes, thereby promoting
transparency and accountability.

It's crucial for all CSOs to adhere to this instruction by completing the
registration process. The agency has specified that CSOs must submit their
property registration forms, in soft or hard copy, between April 18th and May
21st, 2024.
