popular in India which. is about the online purchase and sales of shares. Online trading in
India is the internet-based investment activity that involves no direct investment of the
broker in trading securities. There are many leading online portals in India along with the
online trading platform. The important stock exchanges are NSE and BSE. In online share
trading no individual broker can make commission, the only person who is authorized to
trace the account is the actual investor.

Online trading is an Internet based investment activity. Internet exchanging began in India
on 1ST April 2000 with 79 parts looking for authorization for web based exchanging. Internet
exchanging should be possible by the interaction of an individual and dealers purchasing
and selling protections over an electronic organization, with a business firm. The SEBI

(BSE). Religare offers online trading services, investment advisory, and portfolio
management services to retail clients. It facilitates trading in equities, derivatives,
commodities, and currencies.

NEED FOR THE STUDY:


The study is helpful to understand present scenario of online stock trading. Investors gain
understanding towards various investment avenues through online trading. Today there are
many online trading companies working as portals for the biggest stock houses like the
National stock exchange and Bombay stock exchange. The online trading companies allow
the investors to invest in a number of financial products and services like derivatives, mutual
funds, Equities. This study helps the investors to take good decisions when they investing in
online share trading and also to ascertain the behaviour of share returns in trading market.
Hence the study has been undertaken with the following objectives.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:


I . To Study the investor's Awareness towards online Stock trading.
2. To assess the investors perception towards online stock trading.
3. To suggest measures for investors to meet challenges in online stock trading.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
In this study convenience sampling technique is used. Primary data is the source from which
the researcher collects the data. The data have been collected from 100 respondents
through a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to the personal
contacts, clients through broking agencies and Investors.

Data source:
The data collect methods include both the primary and secondary data.

Primary data:
Primary data was collected from investors, advisors and company professionals with the
help of questionnaires.

Secondary data: The secondary data was collected from Internet, newspapers and
magazines of the NSE, BSE. Population: Investors registered in online stock trading Sampling
size: The sampling size is 100

Research instruments: A well-structured questionnaire and schedule was used as


research instruments in this research.
