Admission M.B.B.S. 2023-24 – General Instructions


PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
1. All the candidates who are allotted to M.B.B.S. course at Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute,
Thrissur shall report at the College Office on the ground floor of the Academic Block (Gate-01) in order to join the
college as per the allotment memo from Commissioner of Entrance Examination. Joining dates are given below.

2. Kindly wear a surgical mask / N95 mask & avoid crowding at the college office premises for your own protection.
3. Take print-outs of the various admission forms published along with this instruction on one side of the A4 sheet and
fill them up from your home, so that admission process at the college can be completed faster. Only those students who
require hostel admission need to fill up the hostel admission form.
4. A check list of all the documents to be submitted at the time of admission is attached along with this instruction. Make a
print-out of the check list and arrange your relevant documents in the same order, so that verification of the Documents can
be completed without delay.
Two additional sets of all documents photocopied and Self –attested by the student shall also be brought ready from
home. Please note that the copy of the PAN CARD of parent shall be self-attested by the parent himself/herself.
The NRI documents shall be in compliance with GO (Rt)No.375/2020/H&FWD dtd. 22.02.2020, ASC/100/21/MBBS/
BDS/NRI dt. 30/11/2021 & CEE/3600/ /KEAM-2021/TA4c dated 01/12/2021 (refer CEE website for details)
5. Eight Passport size colour photographs and Two stamp size colour photographs laminated on front side shall be
enclosed in an envelope with the name of the student written on the envelop.
6. All should produce the advance fee receipt (institutional copy) made to CEE at the time of allotment.
7. Balance of Fees (deducting the advance fee paid at CEE if any) for the first year course including hostel & Mess
charges (if require hostel), shall be paid at the time of admission by a single Demand Draft in favor of Jubilee
Mission Medical College Payable at Thrissur or RTGS (please provide Transaction ID for verification with our
bank, in case of RTGS payment): Eligible Community (SC/ST/OEC need no not pay tuition fee while joining though
not exempted.

MEDICAL COUNCIL OF INDIA:
Ragging means: “Any conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of
harassing, teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities
which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in
a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not in
the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to
adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student. The conduct includes but is not restricted to any
act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher;
exploiting the services of a fresher, or any other students for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or
a group of students; any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student
by students; any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing
obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health of person; any act or abuse by
spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, “vicarious or sadistic
thrill from activity or passively participating in the discomfiture of fresher or any other students; any act that affects the
mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic
pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student”.
As per Gazette of India dated 05.04.18 sub clause 3.3.: “Any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying
and exclusion) targeted at another student (fresher or otherwise) on the ground of colour, race, religion, caste,
ethnicity, gender (including transgender), sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, linguistic
identity, place of birth, place of residence or economic background.”

KERALA PROHIBITION OF RAGGING ACT:


“Ragging” means doing any act by disorderly conduct to a student of an educational institution, which causes
or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or raising apprehension or embarrassment to that student and
includes teasing, abusing or playing practical jokes or causing hurt to such students or asking a student to do any act or
to perform something which such student will not in ordinary course be willing to do.
The act makes ragging an offence. The punishment is imprisonment for a term up to two years and a fine up to
ten thousand rupees to those convicted of committing, participating in, abetting or propagating ragging within or
outside any educational institution.
This mandates dismissal of any student convicted under the act from educational institution. Such student shall
not be admitted in any other educational institution for a term of three years from the date of order of such dismissal.
On receipt of complaint of ragging, the Head of Educational Institution can suspend the accused student and is
duty bound to enquire into the matter within 7 days.

UGC REGULATION 2009:


a) Any conduct by any student or students whether by words or written or by an act which has the effect of

activities by any student or students, which causes or is likely to cause annoyance , hardship or psychological harm or
to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or any other student; c)Asking any student to do any act which such
student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or torment
or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student; d) Any act by a
senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or fresher; e)
Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a
group of students; f) Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student
or students; g) Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it, sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing
obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person; h) Any act or abuse by
spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include driving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic
thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student; i) Any act that affects
the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic
pleasure or showing of power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.
