Title of the Activity: GCED DAY

Type: International Led (Joint Activity)

Rationale/Context:
While the world may be increasingly interconnected, human rights violations, inequality and poverty
still threaten peace and sustainability.Global Citizenship Education (GCED) is UNESCO’s response to these
challenges. It works by empowering learners of all ages to understand that these are global, not local issues
and to become active promoters of more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive, secure and sustainable
societies.GCED is a strategic area of UNESCO’s Education Sector programme and builds on the work of
Peace and Human Rights Education. It aims to instill in learners the values, attitudes and behaviours that
support responsible global citizenship: creativity, innovation, and commitment to peace, human rights and
sustainable development (https://en.unesco.org/themes/gced).
Relatively, Korean and Filipino Teachers will conduct GCED Day, a joint activity between Korean
and filipinos promoting GCED through Pledge of Commitment “Taking Care of Plant with name on it.
eg.

Through this activity, the students leaders will be true exemplars of Global Citizenship Education.
Furthermore, this will help young minds to be more equipped, more focused leading to becoming a better
citizens of the world.
Strategic Objectives:
90% of customer satisfaction with the Administrative Services (internal and external stakeholders) of the school.

Objectives:
This activity aims to:

1. protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests,
combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss #SDG15
Life on Land
2. build sustainable partnership and linkages. #SDG17_Partnership for the Goals

METHODOLOGY
Program of Activities:

 Conduct Pre-Planning Activity to be participated in by the Korean Teachers and Filipino

Teachers
 Prepare necessary documents and other resources ( eg. activity design/plan, materials and
resources needed for the activity
 Program and activity proper.
