CONCLUSION
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam once emphasized the urgent necessity for a complete overhaul of the
Indian education system. Despite numerous initiatives and reforms by the Indian government
over the years, a significant number of students continue to drop out, resulting in a national
literacy rate of only 69.1% in both rural and urban areas. Furthermore, there is a substantial
11.4% rate of educated unemployment in the country. Despite the government's prolonged
efforts to address these educational challenges, UNESCO reports indicate that India still
ranks third in global illiteracy. With limited resources at its disposal, the government faces
significant constraints in tackling these systemic issues. Hence, there is a crucial need for
corporate social responsibility (CSR) intervention in the education sector, given the pivotal
role education plays in shaping the nation's future. As the government aspires to achieve a $5
trillion Indian economy, it is imperative to revitalize the entire education ecosystem, with
corporate CSR funding serving as a roadmap towards realizing a more robust educational
landscape in India.
