Q7. Here some information about how the fossil fuels –coal, oil and natural gas –were formed
and how we use them.

Put these steps in the correct order by numbering them .1 to 5

Electricity is carried to our homes on thick cables. We use electricity to light

our homes, to keep our food cool, to power the television and computer,
and to do many other things.

By digging mines on land, we find coal. By drilling on land or under the

seabed, we find oil and natural gas and use pipelines or tankers to collect
them.

About 400 million years ago, swampy forests covered much of the land. Tiny
one-celled plants lived in the rivers and seas.

Coal, oil and natural gas are transported to power stations. There they are
burned to produce energy, which is used to turn the generators that
produce electricity.

Over millions of years, the dead remains of the plants in the swampy forests
formed coal. The dead remains of the tiny one-celled plants and animals
turned into oil and natural gas.
