Tutee Semester Grade School Reflection

Tutoring with my
beginner reader
focused on work
with CVC words,
long vowels,
decoding, spelling
and b and d
reversals. We were
unable to complete
a post assessment
but saw
improvement with b
Beginner Fall 2023 2nd grade Prince Edward and d reversals.
 Tutoring with my
emergent reader
was both a
wonderful
experience because
he was eager and a
positive student.
But we had a many
technical difficulties
working with him
online. There were
several sessions
where we couldn't
connect or the
sound wasn't
working. The little
time that we had
with him was spent
working on
phonemic
awareness activities
and phonological

 Tutoring with my
instructional tutee
was a wonderful
experience because
we worked face to
face and she had an
enthusiastic and
positive atttide and
ready to learn. We
worked on deleting
and substituting,
medial consonants,
and spelling targets
were dge and silent
e. She made
adequate progress.
Good
comprehension
skills and got her to
use her finger to
track print and
