PLAC907 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 1 (3-5 YEARS)

DOCUMENTATION, ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING RECORD

Context: Name: Bianca Hambrous
Age: 3year old
Date: 27/02/2024
Time: 12:30 PM

Bianca has decided to build with blocks and toy vehicles at the construction activity
table during unstructured playtime in the preschool. She's accumulated a range of items,
such as little figurines, plastic road sections, wooden blocks, and toy automobiles.
DOCUMENTATION
12:30 PM: With joy shining in her eyes, Bianca walks inside the play area. With eager little hands, she makes her way straight to
the bin full of road track plastic components and starts looking for the ideal parts.

12:32 PM: Bianca chooses a range of track segments, giving each a close inspection before accumulating them. She appears
focused and determined, muttering to herself now and then as she plots her way.

2:35 PM - Bianca starts to arrange the track parts on the table, grinning with joy. She creates a winding trail that snakes across the
room by starting with a straight portion, adding a curve, and then adding another straight section.

12:40 PM - With a happy smile on her face, Bianca stops to examine her work for a bit. She appears content with her current level
of development, yet as she keeps growing, here's a focused expression in her eyes.

12:45 PM - As Bianca continues to add parts to her road track, she starts experimenting with various setups, trying out crossings
and loops. She seemed to be taking pleasure in the process of trying out several options and determining which one works best.

12:50 PM: Bianca's road course is beginning to take shape, with the vibrant pieces combining to create a sophisticated system of
pathways and highways. She moves deliberately, moving and rearranging the parts until she is happy with how they are arranged.

12:55 PM - Bianca completes her road track with a last finish and stands back to appreciate her labour of love. As she looks over
the track she's made, she appears happy with her design and displays a sense of success.

LEARNING and CURRICULUM

Each portion of the documentation is to be analysed for learning that is occurring and the curriculum areas the children are engaging in
Learning Curriculum Areas
Engineering Concepts: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Building a road track requires a thorough understanding of

Mathematical ideas can be reinforced by measuring shapes,

angles, and distances while building the track.

Physics: Examining ideas such as motion, gravity, and friction as

REFLECTING and REVIEWING

How did the children respond? Did they achieve the learning objective? Were there any unexpected outcomes? What was your role? How
did you support and teach the children? Would you do anything differently? Where to next?

Bianca was very happy as she was able to make car with legos, she was able to put different shapes in a exact pattern to make a car.
My job was to facilitate learning by offering support where it was required and encouraging a group-based atmosphere. I helped
Bianca by providing examples, posing thought-provoking queries, and promoting peer-to-peer help. Considering the experience, I
would promote even more latitude in design decisions and allot more time for investigation. We next intend to expand the project
by adding robotics and coding components to improve their comprehension of STEM ideas and encourage her creativity even more
