Greetings!

The Paghudlan Elementary School Teaching Staff would like to


request your presence being the PTA President of the school on the
upcoming meeting on January 12, 2024, Friday, 1:00 PM at Grade 2
Classroom. One of the highlights of this meeting that will be given
emphasis is the Implementation of Gulayan sa Paaralan. The successful
of this program will surely be the school Income Generating Project. This
also aims to have an additional source of food consumption in school that
will benefit the learners of Paghudlan ES.

On this, it is hoped that you will be with us together with the other
parents as stakeholders of the school through your leadership. Your active
involvement and creative contributions are essential for the success of the
"Gulayan sa Paaralan" project. Let us work together to create a vibrant and
sustainable learning environment for our learners.

MINUTES OF MEETING

It was a fruitful and successful meeting with the parents to engage them in
the planning and resource programming and in the implementation of an education
plan. The meeting was held at Grade 2 Classroom in Paghudlan Elementary School
on January 12, 2024, Friday, 1:00 P.M.

Mr. Rommel D. Alde requested the presence of the parents to discuss about
the implementation of the Gulayan sa Paaralan as this year’s proposed project.

The meeting started with a discussion of last year’s educational project


followed by some school updates, particularly the present enrollment and
accomplished projects. This year as one of the significant stakeholders of the
school, they are to be involved in the implementation of the proposed project, which
Mr. Alde emphasized to be very cooperative not only with the school but with their
children as well. Mr. Alde also pointed out the benefits of having Gulayan sa
Paaralan which made everybody amenable to the plan. All the parents agreed that
they will give their full support for the success of the implementation of Gulayan sa
Paaralan.

The said project will be made possible a week after the meeting. The meeting
ended at around 3:00 P.M.

ACTIVIVITY COMPLETTION REPORT (ACR)

I. Title: Implementation of Gulayan sa Paaralan Project (GPP)

II. Introduction

To raise more awareness about health and nutrition, among studen


ts,teachers, and parents, theDepartment of Education implemented” GULAYAN
SA PAARALAN PROGRAM (Vegetable Garden in school) which was aligned with the
DepEd Memorandum No. 223, s. 2016 which strengthens the implementation of
the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) in Public Schools Nationwide whose
general objective is to promote food security in schools and communities through
self-help food production activities among learners and appreciation of agriculture
as a life support system. This Memorandum is issued to sustain school gardens,
not only to attain 63% sustainable garden at present, but also to establish gardens
in all schools nationwide.

Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) is one of the programs under the


National Greening Program of the Department of Education. The GPP is one of
the mechanisms the government implemented to promote and raise awareness to
address food insecurity in the country.

III. Objectives

a. Educates parents and students about the nutritional benefits of


consuming a variety of vegetables.
b. Instills a sense of environmental responsibility by involving students in
sustainable agricultural practices.
c. Provides hands-on experience in basic agricultural techniques, including
planting, cultivating, and harvesting.
d. Develops teamwork and collaboration skills among students through
collective gardening efforts.
e. Encourages community members to actively participate in the
maintenance and development of the school garden.
IV. Accomplishments/ Activities

In a pivotal planning meeting led by Mr. Rommel D. Alde on January 12,


2024, Friday, parents were invited to contribute their ideas and support for the
upcoming implementation of the "Gulayan sa Paaralan" initiative. Sir Rommel
initiated the discussion by expressing the school's commitment to fostering a
sustainable and health-conscious environment through the establishment of a
school garden. The meeting aimed to collaboratively plan the various aspects of the
project, seeking active participation from parents to ensure its success.

Sir Rommel provided an overview of the proposed plan for the "Gulayan sa
Paaralan" project, emphasizing the need for collective effort in planning, executing,
and sustaining the initiative. Updates on the chosen site, types of crops to be
cultivated, and the integration of gardening and nutrition into the curriculum were
shared. He encouraged parents to share their insights, preferences, and any
expertise that could enhance the planning process.

The involvement of parents in supporting these activities and reinforcing the


importance of gardening and nutrition at home was encouraged. Sir Rommel
stressed the significance of parents as partners in their children's holistic
education.

Community engagement emerged as a central theme, with the school head


urging parents to actively participate in the "Gulayan sa Paaralan" initiative.
Opportunities for parents to volunteer their time, skills, or resources were
discussed, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and community ownership of
the project. He expressed his enthusiasm about the potential transformative impact
of the initiative on both the school and the broader community.

In conclusion, Sir Rommel expressed his gratitude for the presence and
active participation of parents in the planning meeting. The meeting concluded with
a call to action, inviting parents to continue collaborating with the school in
planning and executing the "Gulayan sa Paaralan" initiative. The shared
commitment and collaborative spirit set a positive tone for the continued success of
the project through collective efforts.

V. Actual Result/ Outcome

The planning meeting for the "Gulayan sa Paaralan" initiative with the
parents was marked by a high level of engagement, constructive discussions, and a
shared enthusiasm for the project's success. The actual result surpassed
expectations, setting a promising foundation for the upcoming implementation of
the initiative with active involvement and support from the parents and other
community stakeholders.
VI. Problem Encountered

Budget allocation to fully implement the Gulayan sa Paaralan.

VI. Recommendations

 Tap for supports coming from the Government and Non-government


agencies.
 The school shall continue implementing sustainable production of
vegetables.
 The pupils must be encouraged to create their home vegetable garden.
 The parents’ participation is a must to sustain and maintain the production
of vegetables.
