On the morning of April 23rd, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh along with

high-ranking delegation left Ha Noi to attend ASEAN Leader’s Meeting held in


Indonesia.
Attending the delegation led by Mr.Chinh were minister of Foreign Affairs
Bui Thanh Son, Minister cum Chairmen of Government Office Chan Van Son,
Deputy Minster of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vice Chairmen of
Government Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Planning
and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham
Vinh Quang, and Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN Nguyen Hai
Bang.
ASEAN Leader’s Meeting held in headquarters of ASEAN Secretariat,
Jarkata, Indonesia from April 23rd to 24th. The meeting anticipated to discuss
about Myanmar situation, Community building process, dealing with COVID-19
pandemic and diplomatic relations of ASEAN,…
During this work trip, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will have bilateral
contact activities with ASEAN Leaders.
This is the first foreign work trip of Mr.Chinh as the Prime Minister,
affirming that Vietnam’s priority is to tighten and strengthen solidarity and support
with ASEAN members, contributing to improving central role and position of
ASEAN in solving emerging challenges, thereby creating a peaceful and favorable
for the sustainable development of each countries and the whole region.
The work trip also affirming that Vietnam made positive efforts to the
development process of ASEAN Community, continuing the results that Vietnam
achieved as ASEAN Chairmen in 2020; affirming commitment, responsibility,
proactive and positive contribution of Vietnam to the common challenge of the
region and international issues.
As the Chairmen of the United Nations Security Council in April 2021, the
non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, Vietnam is
making efforts to promote ASEAN central role, being the connector between
ASEAN and Security Council to ensure objective and balance information, and
support Myanmar to overcome the difficulty.
