Q2. Statement: Government has permitted unaided colleges to increase their fees.
Assumptions:
i. Unaided colleges are in financial difficulties.
ii. Aided colleges do not need to increase fees. [TCS NQT 2024 (On Campus), 2019]
A) Only assumption I is implicit B) Only assumption II is implicit
C) Either I or II is implicit D) Neither I nor II is implicit
E) Both I and II are implicit
Q4. It is dark in my bedroom and I want to get two socks of the same colour from my
drawer, which contains 26 red and 24 blue and 34 brown socks. How many socks do I have
to take from the drawer to get at least two socks of the each colour? [TCS NQT 2022,
2018]
A) 6 B) 74
C) 61 D) 62
1 2 3 4 5
A) 1 B) 2
C) 3 D)4
E) 5
Q6. In the questions below the sentences have been given in Direct/Indirect speech. From
the given alternatives, choose the one which best expresses the given sentence in
Indirect/Direct speech.
"If you don't keep quiet I shall shoot you", he said to her in a calm voice. [TCS NQT 2022 2020]
A) He warned her to shoot if she didn't keep quiet calmly.
B) He said calmly that I shall shoot you if you don't be quiet.
C) He warned her calmly that he would shoot her if she didn't keep quiet.
D) Calmly he warned her that be quiet or else he will have to shoot her.
Q7. On planet zorba, a solar blast has melted the ice caps on its equator. 8 years after the
ice melts, tiny plantoids called. echina start growing on the rocks. echina grows in the form
of a circle and the relationship between the diameter of this circle and the age of echina is
given by the formula d = 2 X root of t - 8 for t >= 8 where d represents the diameter in mm
and t the number of years since the solar blast. Jagan recorded the radius of some echina at
a particular spot as 4 mm. How many years back did the solar blast occur? [TCS NQT
2023, 2018]
A) 18 B) 12
C) 16 D)24
Q10. 1/3 of a number is 6 more than 1/6 of that number then what is the number? [TCS NQT 2023, 2019]
A) 12 B) 36
C) 24 D) 48
Q5. D
Q6. C
Q7. D
Q8. C
Q9. A
Q10. B
SOLUTIONS
1. Option 3:
Let the radius of circle be r
Let the side of square be a
then diagonal of square= a x sqrt(2)
This diagonal length = 12 x r + 2r x sqrt(2)
(because the extreme circle's radius is perpendicular to side of square.) Thus we get
12 x r+2r x sqrt(2)=a x sqrt(2)
r(6 x sqrt(2)+2)=a
r/a=1/(6 x sqrt(2)+2)
Thus ratio:
r:a = 1:(6 x sqrt(2)+2) = 1: 10.4
So, a : r = 10.4 : 1
2. Answer: Option A
Explanation:
Unaided colleges have been allowed to increase their fees. This means that they are in
financial difficulties. So, 1 is implicit. Nothing is mentioned about the aided colleges. So, II is
not implicit.
4. Option D:
Maximum of (red ,blue ,brown)+ 2nd maximum of (red ,blue ,brown) + 2
34 + 26 + 2 = 62.
5. Answer: Option D
Explanation:
Only in fig. (4), the pin passes through a vertex of each one of the two elements.
6. Answer: Option C
Explanation: He warned her calmly that he would shoot her if she didn't keep quiet.
7. Option D:
r=4mm
So diameter = 8mm.
Substituting D=8 in equation we get t = 24.
We can go from options also for arriving at the answer.
8. Explanation
7 * 7 – 7 = 42
11 * 11 – 11 = 110
13 * 13 – 13 = 156
17 * 17 – 17 = 272
19 * 19 – 19 = 362

9. Solution: 1
The correct answer is Option 1 Roofs
1. To make a plural of a word ending in -f, change the f to a v and add es. Similarly, if a word
ends in -fe, change the f to a v and add an s. The result for both types is a plural that ends in
-ves.
2. But this case is an exception.
3. So, forming the plural of this word adheres to the standard rule for forming plural nouns
in English i.e. by adding the letter -s at the end of the word.
4. Therefore, we get the word Roofs which is Option 1 and hence the correct answer.
10. EXPLANATION
Option 2:
P x (1/3)=6+[P x (1/6)]
Solving this
P=36
