PERSONAL STATEMENT FOR MASTERS IN SOCIOLOGY

I am Opaleye Oluwaseyi John, A responsible, open-minded, highly focused, and an energetic man with
fervor to pursue a carcer in international business management; this is my personal statement;

I completed my undergraduate degree from one of the most reputable university in my country,
upon getting my bachelor's degree in Sociology, I immediately know what to do, because of the
experiences and exposures I have gained during my bachelor's degree, I feel undertaking this Master's
degree program will be the next step in my career.

Sociology has prepared me for a better career in understanding the problem in the society and
being able to solve them through scientific research and research methodology. Also, by helping me
understand power, strength and authority in aspect of all sort.

I have made my decision to continue my education in going for Master’s in Sociology. I consider
myself a goal-oriented person who will face the challenges to gain the degree to further my academic
potential and become a valuable asset to the World.

Throughout my current studies I have strived to improve my knowledge and skills which have
practical value. I have already obtained the knowledge of relating with people in terms of offering useful
services such as human service worker and also being a relationship officer. Even though these
achievements required much effort and self-discipline on my behalf, I really enjoyed the learning
process.

In the era of information technologies, economic globalization is subjecting the whole world to a
substantial and profound transformation. The development of technologies and its effects on the world
society has always amazed me and generated within me a profound interest in going further to study
more on Sociology. I particularly enjoy the way of life of people and how we grow to understand who we
truly are through communication and social interaction.
