Energy can not be ______________________ nor ______________________.

Energy can only be ______________________ from one store to another.

This law is known as the ______________________.

Energy is measured in ______________________.

(4)

Kinetic energy is a form of energy.

(b) List 3 other types of energies.

3 Figure 1 shows a generic light bulb.

Figure 1

The energy input of the light bulb in 100J.

85J is wasted energy and 15 J is useful energy.

(a) (i) Which energies are used by the light bulb?

(iii) Express the energy of the light bulb in a Sankey diagram.

(3)

Figure 2 shows an energy efficient light bulb.

The energy input is still 100J, but the energy output for wasted and useful energy is different to
the generic light bulb.

(2)

The following part is on an experiment which Investigates conductors.

Equipment used: wax, pins, metals, and a bunsen burner.

Method:
- Put the pin to the end of the metal using drops of wax.
- Put the other end of the metal on the Bunsen burner.
- Score the time for the wax to dissolve and for the pin to drop.
- The fastest time shows the best conductor of heat.

The results show that copper is the best conductor.
