TOPIC : INEQUALITIES
YEAR : 2023/4

BACKGROUND
Monte Rosa College wants to supplement it's income and intends to embark on a
broiler and layer project. The school has $ 1000 to undertake projects to raise money.
The Agriculture department suggests that it is best to embark on broiler & layer
project. The mathematics department is then tasked to come up with the number of
broilers & layers to be bought for maximum profit. It costs $4 to raise a broiler & $6
to raise a layer. The fowl run accommodates a maximum of 200 birds. The school
intends to order more broilers than layers. The school also intends to order at least 10
layers.

CALA DESCRIPTION

The CALA consists of two parts A & B

PART A
- Learners to form inequalities using the information they have. [6]
- Learners to state the scale they are going to use in drawing the graph [2]
-Learners to draw the graphs of inequalities and shade the unwanted region [8]
PART B
Use the graph to find the combination of broilers and layers that gives the school
maximum profit. [4]
