I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

BioBlaze-X is a product that using methane gas from food waste that can provide significant
environmental, economic, and social benefits. It can be the solution to the problem of food waste that
affecting our health and environment, also it can be an alternative substitute for fuel gas because of
inflation of petroleum gas. By reducing waste, generating renewable energy, and mitigating climate
change, we can create a more sustainable and resilient future for ourselves and future generations.
Producing methane from food waste is a sustainable and economically viable solution for managing
organic waste. Its already use in the different countries like USA, Germany, Italy and etc.

The process in making this methane gas we need to gather the organic materials that will be
used as feedstock, such as food waste, agricultural residues, animal manure, or wastewater sludge. The
feedstock is then shredded, chopped, or ground to increase its surface area and improve its digestibility.
The feedstock is then loaded into an airtight digester, which can be a tank, a pit, or a flexible bag. The
digester is filled with water and inoculated with a starter culture of microorganisms, which will break
down the organic matter and produce biogas. The digester is kept at a constant temperature of around
35-40°C (95-104°F) and stirred or agitated to maintain a homogenous mixture. The microorganisms in
the digester degrade the organic matter in the feedstock, producing biogas and the waste product of
digestion a nutrient-rich effluent. The digester's biogas is collected and stored in a cylinder can gas
holder or a storage tank. The biogas can then be used to power appliances such as cooking, heating,
electricity generation, and transportation. The waste product produced by anaerobic digestion is
nutrient-rich and can be used as a fertilizer or soil amendment. It can also be further processed to
remove excess moisture and produce a high-quality organic fertilizer. It can be also sold to the farmers
for natural fertilizers.

It comes in a cylinder can like those butane canister and liquefied petroleum gas (lpg) tank that
we use in cooking but this one is from waste foods gas. The prices for the BioBalzeX product will also
vary depending on the liter sizes. The price will vary to 78 Pesos for 250g BioBlaze-X Canister and
625 Pesos for 11kg BioBlaze-X gas tank, which is more affordable compared to other products like
butane canister and liquefied petroleum gas (lpg) . The byproducts of anaerobic digestion can be
converted into organic fertilizers and sold to local farmers for 500 Pesos in 50kg per sack in the
market.

Along with the product, an English-language manual will be available to guide consumers the
proper product usage and safety protocols when biogas reaches its efficacy level. Various online

Municipal solid waste management (MSWM) is regarded as one of the Philippines’ most
serious environmental issues, with corresponding links to climate change and the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs). However, methane (CH4) associated with indiscriminate municipal solid
This is the digester where the biogas is processed waste dumping has received the most
attention in terms of public health and
climate change. It can exacerbates the climate change crisis with its significant greenhouse gas (GHG)
footprint. Production, transportation, and handling of food generate significant Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
emissions and when food ends up in landfills, it generates methane, an even more potent greenhouse
gas. According to the Department of Science and Technology – Food and Nutrition Research Institute
(DOST-FNRI) 1,717 metric tons of food are wasted every day in the Philippines and this wastage adds
to the growing hunger in the country. Thus, this products can address the growing population and the
increased food loss and wastage.

Due to this, BioBlaze-X products aims to aid every household in different areas in Philippines
to have access to safe, sustainable and eco-friendly gas and fertilizer that can be used everyday. This

III. MARKET PLAN

A. Research and analysis

Food waste management (FWM) is considered to be an extremely important social issue
besides an environmental one. Worldwide, it is estimated that 1.3 billion t/year of foods are
disposed of in landfills (including edible and inedible foods). Due to rapid urbanization and
population growth, there is also increasing concern over the high production rate of organic waste.
Among the renewable energy available, biogas is of great interest due to its ability to treat organic
waste and generate power addressing both concerns simultaneously. Since organic wastes are
always available and unavoidable too, anaerobic digestion provides an efficient means of
converting organic waste to profitable resources. Anaerobic digestion is one of the main waste-to-
energy technologies in reducing the volume of biodegradable waste into energy-rich biogas.
Anaerobic digestion applied to the organic waste produced in urban environments could provide a
critical solution to growing garbage problems while simultaneously reducing external energy
requirements. It is proved that biogas can be compressed, stored in LPG cylinder and made
transportable. To make biogas suitable for cooking application it is compressed up to 4 bar after
purification, moisture removal and filled in LPG cylinder. The length of time that 11kg of biogas
can be used depends on the rate of consumption and the efficiency of the biogas appliance being
used.

Biogas consumption is typically measured in terms of the gas flow rate, which is usually
expressed in cubic meters per hour (m³/h) or cubic feet per minute (CFM). The gas flow rate will
depend on the size and type of the biogas appliance being used, as well as the level of demand or
usage. Assuming an average consumption rate of 0.2 cubic meters per hour, 11kg of biogas could
potentially last for around 55 hours of continuous usage. However, this is just an estimate and the
actual length of time will depend on a number of factors, including the type and efficiency of the
biogas appliance, as well as the level of demand or usage. The target market for biogas products
can vary depending on the specific product and its intended use. Here are a few potential target
markets for biogas products:

Residential Customers: Homeowners who are interested in using renewable energy sources
to power their homes may be interested in biogas products such as biogas stoves or biogas
generators.

Commercial and Industrial Customers: Businesses and industries that consume large
amounts of energy may be interested in using biogas as a fuel source to power their operations.

Agricultural Sector: Farmers can use biogas products such as biogas digesters to turn their
organic waste into renewable energy. This can help reduce waste and provide a reliable source of
energy for the farm.

Government Agencies: Governments can promote the use of biogas products as part of their
renewable energy policies and initiatives.
