Week 2 Writing
Example Letter

To Dear
elanormathers@youmail.co.uk
Mr Jones,

Subject Property Dissatisfaction

Dear Eleanor Mathers,

My name is Charlotte Taylor, and I live at 7 Cliff Road. I am writing

to express my dissatisfaction with the state of the property and to
request that you make some repairs and improvements.

As you are aware, I moved into the property on 08.04.23, having

been shown around by Jack Pickering, the estate agent. There are
two main points I wish to draw your attention to. Firstly, the stairs
are extremely dangerous, and they undoubtedly would not pass a
building inspection. There is no bannister, and four of the stairs
have holes in the wooden tread. I am requesting that a bannister
be installed and the faulty steps be repaired.

Secondly, there is an issue with the insulation in the bathroom;

moreover, the small window in there does not close. Therefore, the
temperature in the bathroom is substantially lower than in the
rest of the house. I would be grateful if the window could be fixed
and the room could be better insulated. In the interim, I would
appreciate the provision of a bathroom-safe heater.

Could you please give me an estimated date of when these repairs

and improvements will be completed?

Thank you in advance for your attention,

Yours sincerely,
Charlotte Taylor
