After completing my BSMS work experience, I felt that I was now able to

contextualise many symptoms and diseases I had learned about, especially from
the emergency medicine module. While I already volunteer at a hospital, I feel that
I can now approach situations differently when faced with a difficult decision or
something that requires patience or understanding.

I love learning about new things- especially about medicine, so when I started this I
immediately decided that it was for me, and I feel that I’ve learned so much from
completing this that it will be important in the future, and will help me along the
path to becoming a doctor.

I’ve learned invaluable things from this course, and it’s really cemented the fact
that I would like to go into medicine. It tested me on my past knowledge as well as
enriching me with new facts and information. I particularly enjoyed the module on
surgery, which I would like to specialise in after medical school.

This obviously isn’t set in stone however, and I feel this course has also introduced
me to a few new sectors of medicine I wasn’t familiar with previously, like palliative
care and elderly medicine.

I really enjoyed this course, and would like to thank whomever it may concern at
BSMS for making it available to the public. :))
