Battery Related Information

This model uses a rechargeable battery. The battery is automatically charged when the terminal is pow-
ered. After charging for 24 hours, the battery can store backup RAM data such as recipes, logging buffer,
alarm history and internal memory for a minimum of one month.

If the battery runs out, the screen will remain in Battery Status and RTC Function Test during
Power Up Test with 3 buzzer sounds to notify the operator. After the buzzer, the application will run as
usual on the screen.

When the Power Up Test has detected that the battery is empty all the data stored in backup RAM (rec-
ipes, logging buffer, alarm history and internal memory) is lost. Please see the following section for infor-
mation about preventing loss of recipe data.

Save Recipe Data to Flash ROM Function

To prevent loss of recipe data, make sure to use software of version 6.0.9 or later. This software includes
the Save Recipe Data to Flash ROM function that is used to store recipe data to the Flash ROM.

How the Save Recipe Data to Flash ROM function is used

1. To use this function, first create an Action button on the screen, (Object/Push button/Action), and
set the Action button to Save Recipe Data to Flash ROM. The operator can then store the recipe
data to the Flash ROM by pressing the Action button during operation.
2. If the operator has already stored the recipe to the Flash ROM, the recipe data will be loaded auto-
matically into the application during power up if the battery is empty.
Depending on the size of recipe data, it is normal to experience some delay in response time. A new
application will need to be run at least once to allow storing of the recipe.
