"One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two
languages open doors along the way..”
–Frank Smith

• In the last activity, you learned about

how you can use your language skills
in the future as an interpreter or
translator.
• In this activity, you'll create a multi-
media presentation (PowerPoint) in
which you share your language history
and why you wanted to learn English,
as well as your goals for using
language in the future.
Here’s how to organize your presentation.

relevant photo.
Bringing Your Work
to Life with Video
• Before you submit your presentation, you’re going to show
more of your personality by narrating your video. There
are a couple of ways you can do this.
1. You can narrate the whole video, staying off
camera for the entire time so we hear only your
voice. PowerPoint has a narration option.
2. Or you can record separate videos of you talking to
the camera (where the audience can see and hear
you) that you can insert into the presentation that
give additional information or stories beyond
what’s written on the page.

• You will upload two files: one is the video file that includes
the narration, and one is the PowerPoint file (pptx or pdf)
that serves as a video transcript.
Helpful Tips
• You can add background music to help you create the effect you want to present.

• Do not use scripted (handwriting) fonts on your presentation outside of the title.

• Make your slides visually appealing.

• Do not use the color yellow for your text.

• Everything must be in your own words. Do not copy anything.

• Download the attached file on multi-media presentations to help you submit your work.

• Remember to submit the video file AND the PowerPoint (pptx or pdf) that will serve as a video
transcript.
