The limit of a function (if it exists) for some x-value c, is the height of the
function as x gets closer and closer to c from the left and from the right.
A limit wherein x values approaches c only from the left or only from the right.

Why study limits?
1. Try plugging in the value of c. If there is a value then that is the limit.
2. If it is not applicable, try a number closer from the left and from the right. If
both approaches to a similar value, then that is the limit.
3. If still not applicable, try simplifying the function and go back to either step 1
or 2.
